Runoff may be a very annoying source, and you and your equipment may get wet while you sleep inside the tent, and some rips may also occur to your tent if you pitch it directly on the ground.

If you pitch your tent on the ground, some crawling animals may enter your tent. Therefore, you will wake up from sleep as a result of exposure to some sores resulting from insect bites, so you must make your tent raised from the ground.

How To Create A Platform For Your Tent?

In order to set up your tent far from the ground, there are some materials and some steps that you must follow:

Materials

In order to create your tent far from the ground, you will need some of the following materials:

  • Bring 6 4″ x 8″ sheets of plywood and ½ inch plywood.
  • Bring 10 to 12 feet and 2x4s for the joists.
  • Bring 4 to 8 feet and 2x4s for the sides.
  • Bring in 4 to 8 feet and 2x4s for the legs.
  • Bring 6 to 12 inch belt hinges.
  • Bring 3 to 9 inch utility hinges.
  • Bring 3 to 4 inch butt hinges.
  • Get 10 eye screws.
  • Get 10 U-bolts.
  • Bring 10 walnut tees.
  • Bring 20 walnuts.
  • Bring 20 insert nuts.
  • Bring 20 1 inch washers.
  • Get 20 flat head screws.

Building Guide

After you bring the previous materials, build your platform by following the following steps:

Step one: is to separate the frame

Create a platform deck by considering 2 to 8 feet and 2x4s and attach the 2x4s by using a heavy-duty ray 10 2x4s hinge to create 20 pieces and attach the 2×4 to the preferred strap to create 10 joists for the floor.

Step two: Build the legs

Bring 10 of the 2x4s and cut them to 10 inches Bring the 10 of the 2x4s and cut them to 13 inches. Attach the short sections to the larger sections using nails to create the legs.

Now! connect the legs to the platform by using a C-Clamp and then make a hole in each of the legs and the platform and then use the hammer nut in order to connect the two with each other.

Step Three: Create the floorboards

Create the panels that are on the platform by using a 3-inch tool to form the mounting panels and to hold the hinges in place more firmly, use short machine screws, six nuts and washers, and then apply varnish to the surface.

Step Four: out of the frame:

Frame the perimeter in order to form a triangle that measures 12 x 16 feet and then join the 2 x 4 corners together. You must also make sure that the hinges are well intertwined.

Step Five: Connect the legs

Install the tent platform using the legs that you made in step two. The legs should be 13 inches high. Then attach each leg to the platform using an eye bolt. You should also use the screws through the frame to the launch nuts that are on the part back of the legs.

Then tighten the screws using your hands as you will use these screws to install the tent well.

Step six: Install the U-shaped screws

In this step, you must install the U-shaped bolts, where these bolts increase the support and fix the ground joists by using the middle leg 2 x 4 where the leg is attached using the U-shaped bolts and using the wing nut where each. What you have to do is to insert the U-shaped screw into the holes using a hammer while tightening the nut using your hands.

Step Seven: is to secure the floor:

In this step, you must be able to use the platform, which is the lifter of your tent from the ground, in order to secure the floor area, so you must make a hole in the top of the 2 x 4 frame in each spiral place.

In order to insert the nuts into the hole, you must use an Allen wrench, where you must drill holes with a diameter of A¼ inch using plywood, and you must tighten all twenty screws well and tightly.
